Over the past week alot of events have taken place that could change the face of history for ever. Here in colorado we are having a grand war between senator Bennet and Ken Buck. Between the two almost everyday a new ad slamming the other opponent has showed up on the tv, or heard over the airwaves. Michael Bennet has produced a lot more negative ads than Buck.
With all of this negativity in the political ads of today, they forget about the real principles of campaigning. Campaigning is a delicate art, that is why so many politicians need so much money. They have writers and damage control out the yin-yang. When you campaign you are trying to convert the other side or moderates to your views, you want them to vote for you.if a politician only campaigns to his supporters than he cannot gain any more votes. So what should politicians actually do?
Also in the spectrum of thing political, touching back on my last topic, a three party system cannot work in a two party system. When we add a third party that shares a group of constituents that is already part of another group, that whole group fails. Here in colorado we have our democrat runner and republican runner. Now we have another runner, a tea party member, when that tea party member joined the race, he split the republican group. Now 50% is democratic, and the other half is split so now the democrat I'd in by proxy.
Just something to chew on.
